About Holly Vear

Holly Vear is the principal lawyer with H. Vear Law Corporation.

Holly has worked almost exclusively with Indigenous governments in Canada since 2009.

Holly’s primary practice focus is on governance and land and resource issues within the context of the Indian Act, the First Nations Land Management Act (Land Codes) and Final Agreements. This work involves working with Indigenous governments and communities to develop and implement laws, regulations and policies that address government administration, financial administration, on-reserve housing (rental housing and private home ownership), citizenship and membership, elections, matrimonial real property, land use planning, land interests, residency and access, environmental protection, environmental assessment, and development.

Holly holds a Graduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting; the technical skills obtained through this graduate program allow Holly to provide creative and practical solutions to meet her client’s policy objectives.
